THE BIGGER PICTURE
The veteran German midfielder ended his club career on a high as Real Madrid lifted the Champions League title beating Borussia Dortmund in his farewell game. His international career, however, ended on a disappointing note after Germany went down against Spain in the Euro 2024 quarter-final and crashed out of the competition.

WHAT NEXT?
While Kroos' love affair with football ended this summer, Ramos continues to remain an active player, however, he has yet to find a club for himself for the 2024-25 campaign. The experienced defender has been linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Orobah and it remains to be seen if he will complete his transfer before the window closes in Saudi on September 2.
